Rotifers (Rotifera: Monogononta) Associated with Littoral Macrophyte Habitats in Flooded Neotropical Ponds: A Qualitative Study

چکیده

Rotifers represent an important component of freshwater zooplankton. The high richness taxa, particularly in littoral macrophyte zones water bodies tropical and subtropical flood-prone areas, is a repeatedly reported fact. However, studies on the composition periphytic rotifers Neotropics are reduced almost non-existent some regions. A qualitative study (Monogononta) associated with aquatic vegetation their seasonal variation was carried out three ponds “Esteros de Camaguán Fauna Reserve” Venezuelan plains. For selection collection sites, two-stage stratified method proportional affixation used. Samples macrophytes them were taken zones. percentages occurrence numerical frequency calculated for each rotifer taxa. faunal similarities correlations within between same different climatic seasons estimated using Jaccard Spearman coefficients (α = 0.05), respectively. In total, 102 taxa 11 species identified. genus Taphrocampa two plus ten other new records Venezuela one South America. taxocenosis geographic distribution reflect typical total both planktonic assemblages similar. highest coincided rainy season lowest early season. fauna presented low similarity values according to seasonality and, exceptions, environments. importance sampling influence flood cycle, degree development structuring communities, confirmed.

Psammon rotifers in Central Vietnam, with the descriptions of three new species (Rotifera: Monogononta).

In order to address the dearth of information on Rotifera in Vietnam, and especially on rotifers inhabiting freshwater psammon in Southeast Asia, we collected and examined twenty-five hygropsammon samples from Bau Thiem Lake, Thua Thien Hue Province, central Vietnam. A total of eighty-nine species-level rotifer taxa were identified, belonging to 21 genera and 13 families. Of these, 48 taxa (54%...

Diversity of sessile rotifers (Gnesiotrocha, Monogononta, Rotifera) in Thale Noi Lake, Thailand

In response to a clear gap in knowledge on the biodiversity of sessile Gnesiotrocha rotifers at both global as well as regional Southeast Asian scales, we performed a study of free-living colonial and epiphytic rotifers attached to fifteen aquatic plant species in Thale Noi Lake, the first Ramsar site in Thailand. We identified 44 different taxa of sessile rotifers, including thirty-nine fixose...

An overview of the rotifers of the family Notommatidae (Rotifera: Monogononta: Ploima) from Iran

The diversity and distribution of the rotifers family Notommatidae was studied in the northwest, the south and the southwest of Iran. In total, 29 species were identified, of which, 25 are new records for the country. New records include the following species: Cephalodella forficata, C. cf. mus, C. vittata, C. ventripes, C. lepida, C. inquilina, C. gibboides, C. tincaformis , C. obvia, C. stere...

On Pulchritia new genus, with a reappraisal of the genera of Trichotriidae (Rotifera, Monogononta)

During the study of rotifers collected in Eastern DR Congo, we rediscovered specimens that correspond to Monostyla dorsicornuta Van Oye, 1926. This species, which we redescribe, had not been seen since it's summary description, and lacked type material. Our analysis reveals that the animal belongs to Trichotriidae rather than to Lecane (presently considered to include Monostyla) or Lecanidae, b...
